* The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars conta a estória de um alienígena chamado Ziggy Stardust que vem à Terra para salvá-la da destruição e acaba montando uma banda chamada Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. Ao atingir o estrelato, entretanto, sucumbe aos excessos típicos do universo roqueiro e comete suicídio. O álbum é considerado pela crítica como um dos mais importantes dá década de 1970.

** Velvet Goldmine é um single lado B do relançamento de Space Oddity, em 1975, pela RCA. Gravado originalmente durante as sessões de Hunky Dory, em 1971, ele aparece como faixa-bônus em The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars .

¹”Meu Nome é Gal” foi um presente de Roberto e Erasmo Carlos para Gal Costa | ²Duprat foi aluno de Karlheinz Stockhausen na Alemanha junto com Frank Zappa. O maestro ficou conhecido como o “George Martin” da Tropicália. | ³Este álbum marca o retorno de Tom Zé de um ostracismo que durou muitos anos. O responsável pela retomada foi David Byrne, ex-líder do Talking Heads, que o conheceu e o redescobriu para o grande público ao produzir este álbum pelo selo Luaka Bop, de sua propriedade. Com Defeito de Fabricação, de 1998, foi considerado um dos melhores álbuns do ano pelo The New York Times | ⁴Walter Franco não fez parte dessa turma de Tropicalistas, o que não o impediu de ter este álbum, “Ou”, de 1973, produzido por Duprat. Muitos, aliás, o consideram uma espécie de ”proto-membro” de uma ainda inexistente Vanguarda Paulista, “movimento” oitentista que teve como figuras principais Arrigo Barnabé e Itamar Assumpção.

Bernard Hermann foi um notório compositor norte-americano de trilhas para o cinema. Conhecido principalmente por suas colaborações com Hitchcock -Psicose (Psycho), Intriga Internacional (North by Northwest), O Homem que Sabia Demais (The Man Who Knew Too Much) e Um Corpo Que Cai (Vertigo)-, também foi responsável por composições memoráveis de outros grandes filmes como Cidadão Kane (Citizen Kane), de Orson Welles, e Cabo do Medo (Cape Fear) e Táxi Driver (Taxi Driver), de Martin Scorsese.
